Mrs. Janet Toth, NCC, NCSC, LPC, has been a certified school counselor for more than 20 years and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our organization. She works everyday with students regarding personal, social, academic and career related issues.
Janet earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Human Services from Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, WV. She received her Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling with a certificate in School Counseling from West Virginia University. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor and a Nationally Certified School Counselor. Janet also holds a counseling license in the state of Pennsylvania. Prior to her current position, Janet worked in the both the community setting and in an elementary school. Presently, Janet has been a counselor for the Charleroi Area School District where she has been the past 19 years. She has been a counselor at every level within the Charleroi Area School District but has served exclusively as a high school counselor since 2007. Her position allows her to work directly with students not only with personal concerns but academic and career matters as well. She is able to conduct classroom lessons with students on a regular basis on such topics as Internet Safety, goal setting, future planning, and various career related topics. Janet sits on many committees and regularly confers with school personnel, parents, and other concerned parties regarding the needs of her students.
Janet is a member of the American School Counselors Association (ASCA), the Pennsylvania School Counselors Association (PSCA), the Allegheny County School Counselors Association (ACSCA), and the Washington/Fayette/Greene County Counselors Association (WFGCCA) where she has served as president and vice president. She has presented at several PSCA conferences, sharing her experiences and knowledge with fellow counselors.
Janet enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and her dog. She loves the outdoors, reading, camping, and traveling.
