Snapchat just did a pretty large update Tuesday with some new features. While there are some new fun ways to use Snapchat now, it has yet to be determined how the features could potentially be misused. I can see there being concern about the new video chatting and audio calling feature based upon the nature of Snapchat’s “disappearing” function that is at it’s core. But I have to ground myself and think about Facetime and good old calling someone on the phone and realize that both of those are also unsaved as well.
I’m always encouraging parents, providers and educators to keep up with the latest trends in social media so they can teach kids cyberwisdom with a solid foundation of knowledge. Here is an opportunity to keep up with those kiddos. Jump on Snapchat and try out the new features!
Excerpt from the official release article “The way you chat with friends on Snapchat is getting a major face lift.Chat 2.0 has video chatting, audio calling, fun stickers, and the option to send photos from your camera roll — and you can pretty much do it all at the same time.”
